An Introvert’s Guide to Mumbai is a blog post that talks about the best things to do in Mumbai for introverts, and why it should be your next travel destination. It goes into detail on how introverts can enjoy their trip without feeling overwhelmed by the crowds and traffic of this big city. This blog post will serve as a guide for all you introverted travelers out there
For The History Buff
Mumbai is one of the largest metropolises in India, and has plenty of historical sites to explore. The Gateway Of India is a popular tourist destination that overlooks Mumbai Harbour, as well as Victoria Terminus station where you can visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum ̶ or check out all those famous bullet trains! For some amazing architecture, head over to Rajabai Clock Tower which was completed in 1878. There are more than 500 structures listed on the list for heritage buildings including BSE & NSE (Bombay Stock Exchange), Indian Merchants Bank Building, St Paul’s Church… etc
For The Culture Vulture
Mumbai is India’s melting pot, and the cultural diversity can be felt on every street. There are plenty of temples to visit such as Siddhivinayak Temple (a Hindu temple dedicated to Ganesha) or Haji Ali Dargah that hosts a tomb with a beautiful garden for visitors. The area has been popularized by Hollywood movies like Slumdog Millionaire which showcases some amazing art from the slums in Mumbai such as graffiti murals. For those who want an insight into what it would have been like living there under British rule, head over to Fort – one of the seven remaining colonial buildings left in Mumbai!
For The Book Lover
If you’re an introvert who loves to read, then this city is perfect for you! You can find new and second hand books at the famous Sunday Book Bazaar that’s held every weekend. For a more modern library experience head over to Crossword bookstore or one of Mumbai’s many libraries such as Khar Danda Library – set on the beachfront in Bandra with plenty of chairs and tables for readers. If you’re looking for something more traditional there are also those well-known bookstores like Oxford Bookstore which has been around since 1878. And if all else fails, just ask any local what their favorite reading spot is… they’ll point you in the right direction ̶ whether it be a cafe, park bench
For The Nature Lover
If you’re looking for a reprieve from the city, head over to Aarey Milk Colony. It’s one of Mumbai’s greenest areas and hosts plenty of natural beauty with things like trees, flowers, birds ̶ as well as some monkeys! You can also hit up Borivali National Park which has thick forests or go hiking in Bombay Hills – just make sure that you wear sunscreen!
